Privacy Policy.
This policy explains how Stoboard collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use our AI-powered storyboarding service.
1. What we collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address (and name if you use Google sign-in). This is handled by our secure authentication provider.
Storyboard content. Everything you create — storyboard titles, loglines, synopses, shot descriptions, generated images, and scripts — is stored in your account.
API keys. If you add a personal Google Gemini API key, it is encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption and is only ever used to generate images or analyze footage on your behalf.
Usage data. We collect anonymous usage metrics (e.g., which features are used, error rates) to improve the product. This data is not tied to your personal identity.
2. How we use your data
To provide the service. Your storyboards, shots, and scripts are stored so you can access, edit, and export them across sessions and devices.
AI generation. When you generate an image or analyze a video, the relevant prompt or clip is sent to Google's Gemini API. If you use your own API key, the request is billed to your Google account. If you use the shared gateway, it is billed to Stoboard's account. We do not train AI models on your content.
Product improvement. Anonymous usage patterns help us decide which features to build or fix. We do not read your private storyboard content for this purpose.
3. Data storage & security
Your data is stored in a managed backend database with Row-Level Security (RLS) enabled. This means your storyboards, shots, and reports are only accessible to you when you are signed in.
Your personal Gemini API key is encrypted at rest using database-level encryption (AES-256 via pgcrypto). It is never exposed in the frontend, never logged, and never shared with third parties.
All data transmission between your browser and our servers is encrypted via TLS (HTTPS).
4. Third-party services
Google Gemini API. Used for image generation and video analysis. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Google OAuth. Optional sign-in method. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Backend / database provider. Handles authentication and data storage under strict security standards.
5. Cookies
Essential cookies. Required for authentication and session management. These cannot be disabled.
Analytics cookies. Optional. Help us understand how the product is used so we can improve it. You can decline these via the cookie banner.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can delete your account and all associated storyboards from your settings page. If you need help, contact us and we will process your request within 30 days.
7. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data and storyboard content is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Backups may retain data for up to 90 days before being purged.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the site. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
